How do I file a nonresident state tax return? – TurboTax Support Video

You probably need to file a nonresident state
return if you made money in any other state. For example, if you own rental property or
work in another state. First, make sure you filled out the personal
info section correctly. With your return open, click the first tab. Scroll down to the last section, Other state
income, and click Edit. Answer Yes to the question, Did you make money
in any other states? and select other states from the drop down menu. Select additional non resident states if needed. When finished, click Continue. After you finish your federal return, we’ll
send you to the state taxes tab. Just click Start next to your nonresident
state. So your nonresident taxes first, before your
resident or part-year returns. And don’t worry if your refund doesn’t
look right at first. TurboTax will do the math once all your state
returns are done. For more answers to your questions, visit
