You can automate your security deposit operations using Your Porter App. First, go to Menu and click Deposit Management. Let’s create a New Deposit Rule. You can either Authorize or Charge the security deposit. Most probably you prefer Authorization to avoid transaction costs. Enter the deposit amount here. You can set a different amount and currency for each listing according to your business needs. All of the settings are editable after you created a rule. You can set how many days before the check-in you want to authorize the security deposit and how many days after the check-out you want to release it. Now you need to select listings that you want to collect a security deposit. Security deposits work for direct bookings and Booking.com reservations, where you handle the payments directly with the guest. I’ll continue by selecting both platforms here. Review the summary of the automated deposit rule and Confirm if everything looks OK. Security deposits will be automated for upcoming reservations and you will be informed with an email. You can always come back to this page and edit or stop your automated deposit rules.
